Which came first? The chicken or the egg?
A much debated and thought provoking question that has been around for decades or even centuries.
Now I would say the chicken…
Why?
Because I’ve always wanted fresh delicious free range eggs without having to drive miles for them or paying a fortune from the supermarket.
So After over 3 years of trying to persuade my partner, my brother getting some and then my sister following suit, he finally said YES!
So now the process started…
Firstly establish where they were going to go in the garden,
Then prepare the space.
That done it was off to the local DIY store for some wire netting and wood for the enclosure.
Ok, that done and built, now the chicken coop, well after seeing the prices of those already made up and wanting a nice new one I decided to build my own.
Yes! My partner laughed too! Yet I am very handy with DIY tools! Lol
So I scoured the internet for blueprints on chicken coops and I came across this one
http://trafficpython.com/x/links/216775
Very reasonably priced and detailed step by step.
So I bought it and downloaded the PDF file, then printed it off.
I chose the design I wanted and bought the supplies needed at the best prices and set to on building my very own chicken coop.
Well, 3 weeks later and lots of blisters but loads of fun though, it’s finished!
Am so proud of myself!
Now this is why I say the chicken first …
After all that hard slogging on my chickens’ house I had saved myself a fortune on the cost of a ready built one, so now I could afford to go straight out and buy my fully grown and ready laying hens!
No messing with incubating eggs and waiting for them to mature enough to lay.
Now, if I wish to have more chickens ( don’t tell my fella!) I can just get a cockerel/rooster!
Free chicks n Free alarm clock! Lol
BEST OF ALL THE MOST DELICIOUS DAILY FRESH EGGS EVER!!
Oh! And I came across this one too “How To Build Your Own Shed”

And my partner is now dropping hints that he could do with another shed for his things!
